PIAA New Required Clearances

Beginning in the 2010 season, all PIAA officials must have a current PA State Police Backgound Check, a PA Child Abuse Clearance, and a Federal Criminal Clearance to officiate games in Pennsylvania.  The Federal Clearance is very complicated and below is a link for instructions on obtaining this clearance.

Don't wait to the last minute with these clearances....they can take up to 4 weeks to process

Important

The Inner-Ac League is playing college rules for both the Varsity and JV levels.  If you plan on working Inner-Ac games this year, you must be familar with the college rules regarding:

1) Face-offs
2) Time-outs
3) Counts
4) Penalty enforcement in the offensive zone.

NOTE:  The Inner-Ac will still adhere to the NFHS rules regarding time of game and stick measurements.

On the "training" page of this website is a PowerPoint presentation developed by Lee Stevens that summarizes the differences between college and high school.
